  • What is your favourite book from your childhood?

In all honesty I wasn’t much of a reader when I was younger. I was too busy outside riding my bike and most likely causing mischief. So this question is a bust for me. One of the earliest books I recall reading was Harry Potter and The Philosophers Stone during a class at school so lets go for that.

  • Paperback, Hardback or E-Book?

Hmm, I’ll go paperback. I love to have hardbacks on my shelf but the practicality of a hardback is a nightmare. Do I take the dust cover off and potentially lose it or do i just put up with it sliding around my hands while I’m reading??? Paperbacks take that out of the equation but still give me the awesome physical book experience. The smell, feel and the feeling of accomplishment when turning the pages.

ebooks are for when space and money are limited or if I’m travelling.

  • Favourite publisher?

Easy, Angry Robot. I can pretty much say I have thoroughly enjoyed every book I have read from them. Pst. Put me one your reviewer list, AR 😉

You can find them here. Be warned you will be adding a LOT of books to your TBR if you visit the site 😅

  • In your opinion, what makes a good book review?

Oh now this could get messy. I want to know why the reviewer enjoyed the book and any parts they weren’t as fond of. I don’t care too much for a summary of the plot in reviews. The book has a synopsis.. it’s not needed in my eyes.

  • List your three favourite books. Now choose which you would burn if it was the only source of fuel on a desert island.

Pure evil, Bethany! Why would you make me do this?? If I don’t give an answer then I don’t have to burn any 😜

  • When writing, do you think good writing is inherent within a person, or do you think it is something which can be practiced and improved?

I would like to think that practice make perfect or at least makes us better. I failed my English exams terribly at school. Like really bad so I want to believe that I can get better. We will see in time.

  • What is your go-to comfort read?

Is this were I say and then you get me to burn it again?? I don’t think so.

  • Which book cover would you re-design if you were given the chance, and what would it look like?

Oh, I’m not prepared for a question like that. I think it would have to be a book I read (My review is available here) recently however the cover has already been redesigned and it looks a lot better than the original.

  • Do you like to share your favourite books with the people around you or keep quiet and savour it?

Definitely share. I don’t stop talking about my favourite reads. I want as many people as possible to share in the awesomeness so I have people to talk to about the book.

  • Do you eat snacks whilst reading or do you have a strict no snacks policy around those precious pages?

I have done a handful of times but I find it too distracting. Now I will only have a nice coffee or hot chocolate with me. Sometimes a beer and sometimes a whisky.

  • What book was has been your biggest disappointment in your life?

So far I wouldn’t say I have been disappointed by any and that is because up until Aug 2020 I didn’t really have people to talk to books about so books where never hyped around me. I’m a huge introvert which come with inherent flaws depending on which way you look at it.

Questions for the people I tag:

  1. Lets start off with an easy one. What are you currently reading and what are your thoughts on it so far?
  2. Paperback, Hardback or E-Book?
  3. If you could visit any world from a book you have read where would you go?
  4. Choose a weapon. Sword, axe or bow and why?
  5. What book are you looking forward to reading the most?
  6. Name your favourite book blog?
  7. Are you a cat or dog person?
  8. Which book cover would you re-design if you were given the chance, and what would it look like?
  9. What book do you recommend the most and why?
  10. You can only choose one for the rest of your reading life. Sci-Fi or Fantasy?
  11. If you were a character from The Lord of The Rings who would you be?

Once again, thank you so much to Bethany and be sure to check out my twitter feed to see if you’ve been tagged!

      1. It’s always fun to read other people’s responses, and to be the one asking the questions, much harder to be the one answering them though, right? ☺️
